In order to maintain a positive working realationship between our association and district administration, it is very important that current leaders model what it means to be an association leader. We want a bench of strong leaders who are prepared to take the reins when leadership roles change. Class can be taken for recertification credit only (no charge) or salary advancement credit ($45 check payable to 27J Schools). More

This series is intended for special education staff seeking to strengthen instructional practices and student-centered problem solving through the intentional use of data. This professional learning series is designed to support special education staff in building intentional systems for data collection, progress monitoring, and instructional decision-making that strengthen specially designed instruction (SDI) and improve student outcomes. Participants will engage in a cycle of continuous improvement focused on using meaningful data to guide instruction, monitor growth, and respond to student needs in a legally compliant and educationally responsive manner. Throughout the series, participants will develop practical systems for collecting and organizing student data aligned to IEP goals and specially designed instruction. Sessions will focus on establishing sustainable progress monitoring practices, analyzing student performance trends, and using Plan-Do-Study-Act (PDSA) cycles to make instructional adjustments based on data. Teams will also examine how to communicate progress clearly through parent-friendly progress reports that accurately reflect student performance and growth. As the series progresses, participants will apply decision-making frameworks to evaluate rates of improvement, determine when instructional changes are needed, and consider how data informs shifts in SDI and service delivery. The final session will focus on disability determination and the role of data in supporting educational decision-making. More
