Through AR meetings, BEA leadership will build the skills needed for our ARs to be effective school leaders. This will allow our members to better represent BEA and lead members in their building in a way that meets BEA’s philosophy of leadership and collaboration. Through this training, we hope to build relationships, collaboration, and cooperation between administrators and ARs/educators that will help schools move closer to meeting their UIP goals and achieving the mission on BEA and 27J. INVITATION ONLY

Opportunities for additional hours if needed:
-Attend a Lobby Day: 4 hours
-Attend CEA Bargaining Conference (2 Days): up to 5 hours max
-Attend Delegate Assembly (2 days): up to 5 hours max
-New AR Training (AR for 5 years or less) : 7 hour max
-Attend another approved CEA/BEA Event: Walk and Knock, phone banking, lead a listening tour, legislative round table, work on a committee, work with building administration to share BEA topic with staff, speak at the Capitol, ect… hours vary

They work as a leadership team to improve the general workings and culture and climate of a school. The members of the team are required to gather input from the groups they represent, participate in problem solving at the meetings, and bring infomation back to the groups they represent.

WHAT:
The goal of this time will be to understand the interconnectedness of GELL for intentionally planned learning that actualizes the Thinking Classroom. Connect and live GELL through your 75 day plan and simple steps.
WHO:
We are asking schools to send anyone who supports, leads, and influences GELL in the building. (AP, Coach, Principal, SEL Coordinator, Teacher Leader, Dean, Counselor, Team lead, etc.) This will also be great learning for anyone who is new in the past couple of years to the 27J learning organization.

We will be able to award teachers a total of 3 credit hours for successful completion (and designation added to the COOL system) of the synchronous or asynchronous training if employed in 27J when completed. Both CDE-offered courses apply to this (asynchronous on the Pepper site and the synchronous Keys to Literacy training). This offer expires on July 31, 2023. If credit has already been "purchased" through the Pepper system, we will award 2 additional credits to equal 3. Any elementary teacher (P-5 & Specials), 4th-12th reading interventionist, CLD, special education teachers, and TOSAs can participate. If the requirement has been met in another way, the credit will not be awarded. However, the course can be taken and completed, and credit can be awarded. Credit will be transcripted when ALL required documentation is complete (Designation on your license through the COOL system.). Time participating in the course should be outside of the contract day.
